Privacy Policy

Recipe Please, by Double5Media LLC · Effective July 22, 2026

The short version: Recipe Please collects no data. Not "minimal data" — none. Recipes are read and saved entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no cloud storage, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

Who we are

Recipe Please is an app and Safari extension for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, made by Double5Media LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes (spoiler: nowhere), and your choices. It applies to the Recipe Please app, its Safari extension, and this website.

Data we collect

None. Recipe Please has no user accounts, no sign-in, no server of ours that receives your data, no analytics or telemetry SDKs, no crash-reporting services, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party trackers. We cannot see who you are, what you browse, what you cook, or how you use the app.

How the extension works with web pages

When you open a recipe website in Safari, the Recipe Please extension examines the page locally, on your device, to detect whether it contains a recipe and — when you tap "View Recipe" — to extract the recipe's title, times, servings, ingredients, and steps into a clean card.

Saved recipes

When you tap Save on a recipe card, the recipe — its text and its photo — is stored on your device, in private storage shared only between the Recipe Please app and its extension on that same device. Saved recipes are not synced to any cloud service and are not accessible to us.

One technical detail worth disclosing: when you save a recipe, the app downloads the dish's photo directly from the website that published the recipe, so your collection works offline. That download is an ordinary web request from your device to that website — the same as when your browser loaded the page — and is subject to that website's own privacy practices. No information about it is sent to us.

Links you choose to open

Recipe cards include a link back to the original recipe's website ("View Original Recipe"). Opening it launches your browser and visits that site, which is governed by that site's privacy policy. The "Share" feature hands recipe text to Apple's standard share sheet; where you send it is entirely up to you.

Purchases and the App Store

Recipe Please is free, with no in-app purchases and no ads. Your download of the app is processed by Apple through the App Store under Apple's Privacy Policy; we receive no personal information about you from your download.

This website

This site (the one you're reading) is a static page with no analytics, no cookies set by us, and no tracking scripts. It is served by Firebase Hosting (a Google service), whose infrastructure may briefly process standard technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the page and protect against abuse, as described in Google's Firebase privacy documentation. We do not access or retain such logs.

Children's privacy

Recipe Please is not directed at children under 13, and because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children either.

Your rights and choices

Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights over personal data that companies hold about you — access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection, among others. Because we hold no personal data about you at all, there is nothing for us to produce, correct, sell, share, or delete; those rights are satisfied by design. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

Security

Your recipes are protected by your device's built-in protections (such as device encryption and app sandboxing). Because nothing is transmitted to servers, there is no server-side data of yours to breach.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy — for example, if a future version added an optional sync feature — we will update this policy, change the effective date above, and describe the change plainly before it applies. The current version of this policy will always be available at this address.
